How we work

A five-step consultancy process.

Every project follows the same considered rhythm — so you always know what's happening, what's next, and what it will cost.

Honest, unhurried

No sales pitch. No upsell. Just engineering judgement.

We don't sell lifts and we have no manufacturer ties. That means our advice is shaped by one thing only — what's right for your building. Every report you receive could just as easily say "do nothing" as "modernise."

The five steps

From first call to final handover.

01

Initial conversation

A no-obligation call with Derek or Tracy to understand your building, your portfolio and what success looks like.

02

Site survey & audit

On-site inspection of the lift, motor room and shaft. Photographs, measurements, and an honest condition assessment.

03

Specification & report

A clear written report with options, risks, indicative budgets and a recommended path — written in plain English.

04

Tender & contractor selection

We write the spec, run a competitive tender on your behalf and help you choose the right contractor for the job.

05

Oversight & handover

Periodic site visits during works, snagging, witness testing and a full handover pack so your asset is properly documented.

Plain English, always

Reports you can hand to your board without translation.

Lift engineering can feel impenetrable. Our reports are written so a property director, facilities manager and accountant can each take what they need — without a glossary.

  • Clear executive summary on page one
  • Photographs against every observation
  • Indicative budgets and lifecycle costs
  • Prioritised recommendations — must / should / consider

Let's talk lifts

Independent advice from engineers who answer the phone themselves.

Whether you're planning a new installation, modernising an ageing lift, or simply want a second opinion — Derek and Tracy are here to help.
